The Stray is an enormous, 200 acre area of open parklands encompassing the entire southern half of Harrogate. It is certainly the green heart of the city and is incredibly popular with locals who particularly enjoy the park in summer, with picnics, sports and kite flying being commonplace.
Being such a large area, it is not too hard to find a private little spot of lawn for yourself, perhaps under the branches of a pink cherry blossom.
If you are visiting Harrogate for the first time and wish to see The Stray, simply head south from any point in the city centre and you will reach it within 10 minutes.
