Pump Room. Harrogate
The Pump Room's attractive octagonal building with its copper dome is easily recognisable in the centre of the town, and now houses a museum.

You can sit in the shade just alongside the Pump Room and watch the world go by.

Erm.. but mind that smell, it is quitle likely that the odour you mistook for a bottom burp expelled by a passer-by is in fact the Sulphurous nature of the waters within the Pump Room.
